Well we finally got out of Ormoc! It took over 3 days to finally get the tickets. Mom, Dad, and Wade had to wait over 7 hours to get the tickets...Unfortunately I had a rough time of my own during our long week. I found out that I am allergic to a certain kind of mosquitoes. I have mosquitoe like bites all over my arms, hands, legs, feet and now my back and chest...And I wasn't even bitten, just being touched by them is enough to get all of those itchy bumps...Anyways everyone else is doing just fine. Tired, but well. The whole time we were in Ormoc there was no Internet, electricity, and phone. Quite a few people say that the power won't be back on 7 in 6 months, but I'm unsure about that. And all the hotels were either full or too damaged to let anyone stay. We were lucky enough that we stayed at the Villa hotel so much before and that quite a few of the rooms aren't damaged that they allowed us to stay as long as we needed. They had this pipe down in the yard so we'd go down with a bucket, fill it with water and take it up to our room for the toilet, washing the few dishes we had, and to wash ourselves. As cold as the water was, it felt GOOD! After a hot, muggy day we needed to cool down. Getting food and drinking water was another issue...We were lucky that there is a place where you can trade American dollars for filipino money. So we were able to get the most of the supplies we needed. But it's so ridiculous... All the flashlights are chargeable ones...And there's no power to charge them with. Phoofy... But many others sold candles so that was nice. It was really hard walking in the dark around that hotel, especially going up and down the stairs. Funny though, on the night before we leave for Cebu the Villa hotel got their generator. So we had lights and water for 5 hours. At least we had a nice long, cold shower and had some light to help Mom pack.
Right now Dad's asleep in the nice clean bed with Wade who is asleep, too. Mom and I are waiting for Mr.Bean to come on tv. Hey, good for laugh right?
We had quite a day after we got to this hotel. We went to the Robinson mall and good Lord... it took the rest of the day to go through most of the building! There are so many food places, clothes, shoes, and electronic device stores in there. Mom got her phone so she can call Grandma, her sister, or anyone else. I got some new clothes that are more suitable for my um...skin condition...At least it's getting better since this afternoon when we got out of Ormoc. And we got the things we needed, like diapers for Wade and more juice.
Where we're going next I'm unsure but right now it really feels good not having to worry about things so much...I still look at the ceiling sometimes though...
Mom and I took a lot of photos of the mess in Ormoc and where we're staying now. I'm unsure when we'll get them posted but they're really something to see.
Well good night. We're just watching tv now resting.
Thank you for the comments and sorry for not replying. Get so busy and tired that I just want to rest.
Take care, I'll try to be a tiny bit more active. But no promises until next month...
